Yes, the libs are obsessed. They suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome, a/k/a "BDS", Palin Derangement Syndrome and Social Conservative Syndrome. In the northeast, lib Republicans (they call themselves "moderates" but we know what they really are and some of them were once registered as Democrats - surprise!) like to rant about social conservatives and talk to themselves (with the approval of the New York Times, of course) about "throwing social conservatives under the bus" or "shutting them up". As Ramesh Ponnuru from National Review has pointed out so aptly, the GOP would have lost even more without the support of social conservatives (many of whom, such as myself, happen to also be fiscal conservatives) and that we are steady, reliable voters, unlike the fickle uppereastside branch of the party which now holds its meetings or therapy sessions in closets since they have been reduced. Let them rant: they are a minority of one! Note: in the two special elections in Louisiana which the GOP won, our candidates were pro life.

That's "Senate seat" - it would probably take about 50 pounds to reach Hillary's "seat". How very royal of Caroline Kennedy to declare her interest in the Clinton Carpetbagger seat! How very royal and very fitting. Since Attorney General Andrew Cuomo was once briefly married to Kerry Kennedy, Caroline's cousin, from whom he had a very, very messy divorce, this could get interesting. How do you define "oligarchy"? In New York it is defined as "Rockefeller, Cuomo and Kennedy"! Quite frankly, I am disgusted by Caroline and her family. As for "experience", Democrats only question experience when it involves a female governor of a very important oil rich/mineral rich state who has actually done something with her life. If heaven forbid we end up with Senator Caroline Kennedy, we will be getting what we deserve for having allowed Hillary to be elected in the first place! Even Bill does not want Hillary's job.

I saw the Ron Howard film Frost/Nixon with my son this weekend. He, of course, has no memory of Watergate and the two of us set up a two person applause section for the former President during the movie version of the interview that he had with the David Frost character. I am ashamed to think of how Nixon was treated by the press over a fifth rate burglary. Unlike Obama, who even tossed his grandmother under the bus, Nixon was too loyal to the wrong people. When I was in graduate school, students and professors fantasized about executing him, such was their hatred of a man who in many ways was great. He opened up relations with China and saved Israel during the Yom Kippur war. Yes, he was a sad lonely person but he did not merit the hatred that the press had for him. Ron Howard, a/k/a Dopie Opie, tries to make analogies with Pres. Bush whom Hollywood despises. It does not work. Pres. Bush has not broken the law, and Nixon barely did. In the film, I despised the James Reston Jr. character. He is an abosolutely noboxious, arrogant know it all punk who actually uses the words "let's get Nixon". There, you have it: "let's get him" which is the attitude of the liberal press towards conservatives, Republicans, Christians, pro lifers and anybody who does not agree with their liberal orthodoxy. Remember: liberalism is a disease and Hollywood has it real, real bad. I am hoping that, with the passage of time, people who see this film are repelled by the press characters.

Protest at Christine Quinn's office tonight (November 24, 2008) 224 West 30th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues between 5:30 and 7 p.m. tonight
A bunch of us will be holding a candlelight vigil by the office of one Christine Quinn, the city council speaker, to voice our object to the Clinic Access Bill (Intro 826). Bill 826 is an assault on free speech if there ever was one. It will permit abortion clinic owners to call the police to arrest the Helpers of God's Precious Infants and other pro life groups that pray near clinics and/or offer alternatives to women in crisis pregnancies. This is a naked power play by clinic owners such as one Merle Hoffman, the owner of the notorious "Choices Medical Center", the clinic which once employed Doctor Zorro, a man who used to carve his initials on women's abdomens. Apparently, Hoffman and the Planned Parenthood owners are afraid that some young ladies and men may actually change their minds and not go through the "procedures" (which is what abortion is euphemistically called) if they are told there are other alternatives and even free medical care to carry the pregnancy to term. This bill would allow the clinic owners to limit the free speech of people who bear witness near the clinics. and even have protestors arrested on the "word" of the cynical clinic owners. Question to abortion mill owners: what exactly do you fear? If the procedures that are performed on a daily basis in your mills are so "popular", then what is your problem? To free speech advocates, imagine if Quinn et al. seek to limite free speech near our "wise" city council.

Actually, he should have resigned after whatshername lost her race to replace Mike Balboni in Nassau County. What happened to Balboni? He went to work for the now and forever disgraced Eliot Spitzer in "Homeland Security" (whatever that is) and gave up his seat. I don't know what he is doing now and don't care. In Queens we are down to one state senator despite being told that "we have more Republicans than in who knows how many counties". How did this happen? You may recall that we used to have three city councilmen and managed to lose two of those races about four years ago. Now we have lost our last city council seat in the Middle Village area - and lost big. The time will come when Senator Padavan will either retire or lose. Hopefully, he is grooming somebody to succeed him. And yes, we once had an assemblyman in Queens named Prescott. No more. And then there were none. And the county chairman and his cronies should consider stepping down also. I don't want to go into the scandals but it is very, very sad. I know some people did work very hard but it fell short.

Regardless of what happens in the top race (presidential) it is time for the GOP to clean house. Our party used to be viable even when we were outnumbered: at one point we had a United States Senator, an attorney general, a controller (not all at the same time), a mayor, the Nassau County legislature, several city councilmen even from superliberal Manhattan, and an assemblyman in Queens.
And then there were none (?).

I once again had the pleasure of traveling to Pennsylvania with Democrats for McCain. This is truly a heroic group of people, many of whom are members of PUMA - "Party Unity my A _ _ ". They have traveled by bus, by car and even by airplane to help John McCain and Sarah Palin and spread the word that Obama and his supporters are thugs who will bring in a thugocracy. Some of them have told me that this is the first time they are voting for a Republican and they are pumped and ready! We worked in Scranton at Democrats for McCain headquarters and went to Wilkes Barre for a rally with Cindy McCain and the wife of Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (note: please send donations to Senator Norm Coleman so that he can defeat the abominable Al Franken. I don't think that we could survive with wackey Al Franken in the Senate! - don't forget about the senate and house races!). Cindi McCain was gracious and lovely and shook hands. She was happy to see all the Democrats for McCain signs. I must add that, in addition to Joe the Plumber, we have heroes/heroines in Harriette from Long Island, Jessie, Joanne, and Dawn and Susan from Florida and Frank. Don't give up the fight! Our basic freedoms/system are at stake. People who have had to deal with Obama's previous election theft are aware of what we are dealing with.

I urge all Republicans and Democrats for McCain go to to Pennsylvania to try to deliver this state to McCain. On Saturday morning, several of us - dominated by former Hillary Clinton supporters - went to northeast Philadelphia to campaign for McCain/Palin. This group was pumped up. And they are not going to forget the shabby, crummy treatment meted out to them by the Obama ticket and their thugs. Several members of our team told me how they had been shoved and even assaulted by Obama supporters in Pennsylvania during the primary. I found Pennsylvania much easier to canvass than New York City. I found many McCain supporters in the northeastern part of Philadelphia and pray that the state will deliver for McCain. If not, we face the prospect of our first Marxist president. I wish more Republicans shared the enthusiasm of this Democrats for McCain group. They are to be commended. I must also add that, while on the whole we were well received, we were harassed a little bit. One fat guy on a bycicle, desperately in need of exercise, circled us several times and cursed us. I have noticed that Obama supporters lack "impulse control": they see somebody with a McCain button and feel they MUST comment on it by using four letter words. I was also pleased to meet a woman who like myself, is Jewish and pro life and has even read my articles on the Jewsforlife website! It is a small world. She pointed out how, when she was campaigning for the great Ronald Reagan, she was told, "Ignore the polls if you are way ahead - they will inflate your chances and ignore them when they are down - they will depress you into inaction." That remains good advice. I strongly advise going out of state to help McCain/Palin.

Last night I attended a terrific anti-Iranian dictator rally in front of the Hyatt Hotel, where the Little Dictator was dining with various Quakers, Mennonites, members of the World Council of Churches and Penny Prizer, major Obama fundraiser, whose family owns the Hyatt. Needless to say, when Obama's name came up, he was booed because of this fundraiser's connection to Ahmadinejad. Speakers included the wonderful Beth Galinsky of the Jewish Action Alliance, Rabbis Potasnik and Avi Weiss, city councilman David Weprin, a young black man from the Sudan who had been a slave thanks to terrorist Moslems, a member of the Log Cabin Republicans who spoke of the persecution of gays under the Iranian terrorist regime, the Rev. Ruben Diaz, and representatives of various Christian and Jewish groups, including William Donahue of the Catholic League. The wonderful "sign lady" who lost somebody during 9/11, was there with her fabulous signs. My favorite: A picture of the Little Dictator dressed like Al Bundy from Married with Children, holding a baby girl dressedd in a hijab, with the caption "Married to children - no sharia law in the USA". Some of the best comments by the speakers, 'WE WILL FIGHT BACK - NO SHARIA LAW IN THE USA". Also: negative comments about the Establishment Democratic Jewish leaders who disinvited Governor Sarah Palin from Monday's rally. I would say that this was a very pro McCain/Palin group. There were also many photographers and reporters although I would guess that the New York Times is ignoring us. On another note: I have just read that the Little Dictator met with Medea Benjamin and her Code Pink crowd. Who said that Islam does not have a sense of humor? Talk about useful idiots!

We Went where no Sane Person Dares to Go - the upperwestside to campign for McCani/Palin
On Sunday I went on the number 1 line to the upperwestside of Manhattan with my McCain sign and was accosted by three wimpy "individuals" who cursed me and said nasty things about McCain. Although I had no interest in conversing with these three individuals who could have been in the film inside the film, Simple Jack (part of Tropic Thunder), I felt honor bound to defend my choice of candidates. One clown told me, in a thick Brooklyn accent, that he is from TEXAS and hates Bush. I informed him that if he is from Texas, then I am from Alabama! As I exited the train, I yelled, "And Obama is a a Moslem". About 60 of us McCain/Palin supporters marched along Columbus Avenue from 79th Street until about 86th Street. We were initially greeted with a deluge of boos, threats and the rantings of one registered Democrat who repeatedly shouted, "f _ _ _ Palin". What a nice guy! However, we did receive many cheers and thumbs up from McCain supporters and our marches became easier and easier. I was astonished at the ugly contorted faces of the Obama supporters who, after all, have been told by their Messiah, "to get into people's faces". He was not kidding. They are taking that very seriously. In fact, I have been told that Republicans who online sponsored debate parties listing their addresses and phone numbers, have received threats. I was invigorated by our demonstration in spite of the abuse to which we were subjected. One of the funniest taunts: "Go back to the suburbs " and "You don't belong in our neighborhood". As if they OWN the neighborhood, and no, I don't live in the suburbs. It is important to do these rallies so that closet Republicans can come out of the closet and not be intimidated by the Obama lunatics. I would urge others to participate. We were also joined by Democrats for McCain. One loonie lefty told us to "read the New York Times " (the NY Times is the newspaper I use for wrapping dead fish in). Another wacko with a German accent called Governor Palin a "ho". We told her to get out of her rent controlled apartment for which we are paying! As they say, a good time was had by all. The Protest Warrriors would have been proud of us.
