1. Obama is weak and naïve on foreign affairs. Americans understand that there are evil forces in the world that want to destroy us and our way of life. When it comes to protecting America, especially, Americans want the president of the United States to have courage and show resolve.
Obama’s inability to admit that a premature pull out of American forces in Iraq would have caused irreparable harm for Iraq and America; and Obama’s willingness to meet with and give credibility to the world’s despots, including human rights violators, Cuban President Fidel Castro and Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, are just two examples of Obama’s naiveté.
2. Obama’s proposed tax policies will cripple the economy. History has shown that tax cuts (across the board) boost the economy because cuts put extra cash in the pockets of working Americans, and when that happens people spend, invest, and build, all beneficial components of a capitalist economy.
Larry Ludlow explains in National Review Online, “[Obama’s plan to] [t]ake from the rich and give to the non-rich. Redistribute income and wealth. It’s an age-old recipe for economic disaster. It completely ignores incentives for entrepreneurs, small family-owned businesses, and investors. You can’t have capitalism without capital.”
3. Obama is wrong on energy policy. At a rate of 70%, Americans support off shore oil drilling. Americans want drilling for the obvious reasons that we need to heat our homes, and drive our cars, but also because it makes sense to exploit our own resources instead of paying for oil elsewhere.
There is a way to accomplish this goal without losing sight that alternate forms of energy is the way of the future. Democrats in Congress, including Obama, have blocked efforts to commence our own development of oil because the environmental lobby have a stranglehold on them. True leaders rise above politics, and do what is right for the American people. Obama has failed terribly to lead on this issue.
4. Obama’s abortion policies are too radical. Obama cannot hide from his record, when in 2003 as chairman of an Illinois state Senate committee, he “voted down a bill to protect live-born survivors of abortion – even after the panel had amended the bill to contain verbatim language, copied from a federal bill passed by Congress without objection in 2002.” [Emphasis added] Obama’s relentless support of liberal abortion laws, regardless of the consequences, puts him at odds with most Americans.
5. Obama’s curious associations leaves much to be desired. The following is a short list of Obama’s curious associations: Liberation theology Pastor Jeremiah Wright; Convicted felon Tony Rezco; American traitor William Ayers; Terrorist sympathizers Code Pink.
It is too late for Obama to disassociate himself because these are long time associates who have raised funds for Obama, traded ideas with Obama, and are friends and advisors. Does the old adage that you judge a man’s character by the friends he keeps hold water, or is this a simple case of the chickens coming home to roost, or both? Either way, this is not good for Obama.

nice piece, Raquel, but in an imperfect political world, I doubt much of this comes to be true.
1. for this to happen, McCain needs to continue to ridicule Obama like he did in some of his most recent ads. But to a large degree, I think America IS concerned about this.
2. this may be true, but it would be wrong to think Americans will vote against Obama just because economic history is against raising taxes on the rich as beneficial to the overall economy. Most voters would topically benefit from his plan - which is the only reason why he's supporting it. Raising taxes on the rich will HELP him get elected, even if it destroys our economy in the longer term.
3. As i pointed out in a previous thread, i agree with you on this one. Voters will tend to move away from "green" ideas as energy prices go higher or just remain at present higher levels. Drilling off-shore, even to residents where rigs may become visable, will be very popular going forward. (unfortunately drilling for black gold is really drilling for "fools gold." it will help us in the short-term but may delay the necessary move to more sustainable energy ideas like Nuclear...)
4. Unless McCain can get momentum with social conservatives (and the fact that you are writing this piece indicates that may be the case already...), this will not come to be true. Right now i'd say his choice position is a wash, but if history is any guide, it will be a net negative for Obama as you point out.
5. This part is not accurate. Although the list you made up may be troubling for Obama, McCain is no choir boy (pardon the pun...) and will likely not be able to use this in his campaign. Sen. McCain has been in D.C. for decades and is DEFINATELY not as "clean" as someone like Reagan was. i would predict that the "bad connections" thing will hurt McCain more than Obama by the end of this campaign.
