The Hill blog and many others commented on yesterday's FEC report, which notes that in New York's 19th Congressional District (which covers NYC's northern suburbs) challenger Assemblyman Greg Ball bested incumbent John Hall's quarterly fundraising tally $182,000 to $161,000.
In fact, The Hill lists John Hall as one of the Top 5 incumbents to disappoint their "bosses in Washington."
The race for the 19th is already being considered one of the top to watch in 2010. Rising star Greg Ball is a seasoned candidate and a good match for the conservative district, while John Hall -- best known for songs like "You're Still the One" from his days in the 70s pop-rock band Orleans -- prides himself on proposing underwater windmills and other outlandish ideas (not that he's ever introduced a serious bill).
While not exactly 'urban,' this race looks like it's going to be the closest to NYC that will have a strong Republican candidate -- and most of it is easily accessible by MetroNorth. C'mon up and join in the fun!
