More Conflicts of Interests and Muddy Entanglements galore!

Excellent case in point! Assemblywoman Ann Margaret Carrozza (D, WFP), 26th Assembly District, Queens, first elected in 1996, and keeps getting re-elected, is an active fulltime lawyer in her practice. Does she have enough time to devote to her constituents?

I'm not suggesting Ms. Carrozza did anything unethical. I don't know if she did or didn't. Generally speaking, I just get suspicious when politicians have multiple jobs while they should be focusing on their public service career and responsibilities - and not on their private clients.

It has been revealed that Ms. Carrozza actually lives in Nassau County full-time and not in her Assembly District. I'm not surprised.

The voters of this 26th Assembly District would be foolish to keep re-electing her.

Just like State Sen. Espada lives in Mamaroneck, Westchester County and not in his Bronx senate district.

When will the voters get smart and clean house? To keep re-electing incumbents who don't deserve to be is stupid. This issue goes beyond party labels.

The voters would be wise to start thinking, stop being lazy and do the right thing at voting time!

Just go home: Queens assemblywoman lives in big-bucks L.I. mansion

Council must preserve the people's playground
The photo was a case study in arrogance - arrogance toward the law, arrogance toward New York City, arrogance toward the people who live therein.

The source of all this offensiveness was Assemblywoman Ann-Margaret Carrozza, caught by the Daily News in the driveway of her $1.8 million home on Long Island's Gold Coast. Well outside the legal confines of her elective district in Queens.

Queens? Who would ever want to live in Queens? And Bayside? How pitiful it would be to live in Bayside when Glen Head is so much the ritzier.

Time was, city politicians at least had the good graces to be ashamed when they were caught in the suburbs. Not Carrozza. Her preening for the camera exemplified the above-the-rules contempt that has become epidemic in Albany.

Carrozza also takes her constituents for morons.

Confronted by Daily News reporter John Lauinger, she piled whopper upon whopper until she verged on admitting to the crime of having deceived her bank.

Story One: Carrozza and her husband, Dr. William Duke, had begun to feel cramped in their Bayside quarters, what with having a growing family and all.

Story Two: The Duke/Carrozzas were all set to buy a new place in Bayside, but the deal fell through.

Story Three: In desperate need of space, the Duke/Carrozzas felt forced to latch onto a house for almost $2 mil about 15 miles away.

Story Four: "My primary residence is in Bayside - and we're temporarily renting that out."

Story Five: On mortgage documents, the Duke/Carrozzas attested that the Glen Head manse was their primary residence.

Which all adds up to Carrozza being guilty of fraud on her constituents or fraud on her lender.

However the authorities sort it out - and they must -Carrozza has abandoned her community, her city and all rights to her job.

She owes her former neighbors a letter of resignation, but she needn't look up the zip code.

It is 11359.

Cuomo or Brown?
written by Behold a Pale Horse , July 06, 2009

So who is responsible for investigating elected officials who violate their residency requirements?

Is it Queens DA Richard Brown, an elected Democrat, or NYS AG Andrew Cuomo, also an elected Democrat?

In the Bronx, DA Robert Johnson is apparently investigating Pedro Espada for living in Mamaroneck. WCBS-TV caught him on tape.

Baloney!

Amazing that Ms. Carrozza has had the support and endorsement of the WFP.

I'm sure Ms. Carrozza know alot about working peoples struggles.

If the WFP doesn't "walk the talk and talk the walk" then they fill eventually follow the same path and demise of the former Liberal Party.

She should resign!

She's a disgrace! Shame on the voters of her district if they keep re-electing her.
