I think the NY 23 C.D. is going to split the right and independent votes - and the Democrat candidate will end up getting electing.

Remember the 1992 Presidential race - Ross Perot, Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush? Perot's voters helped elect Clinton, indirectly.

In this 23 District congressional race, Hoffman is clearly the more conservative candidate. - Stephanie

As I've said elsewhere, I view this as little more than crass opportunism from a man who is seriously damaged goods within the New York GOP. - Quickjustice

Hmmm. Is George perhaps trying to move to the right in order to win conservative (with big "C" and a small "c") support in preparation of a comeback run in 2010, or maybe there's just a personal issue he may not like Dede?

Hoffmann should be careful. Pataki is still damaged goods with all parties (except his sychophantic staff). - Behold a Pale Horse
