<description>I agree that McCain should definitely not choose Romney.

I would love to see him choose a woman for his running mate.

I'm afraid, though, that I might just be dreaming.

I fear that Romney will be the one. :-(

<description>I agree whole-heartedly with the over-arching point of Mr. Murdock's piece. Mitt Romney would not be the best choice for Senator McCain.

Before even reading this piece and absorbing the cavalcade of information contained therein, I never felt particularly confident in a McCain/Romney ticket. Despite Romney's almost certain ability to raise huge amounts of money for the stretch run to November (one of the more attractive reasons for considering him as a running mate), and the fact that, for the most part, he has already been vetted by the media, I am not just not convinced. The laundry list of flip-flops associated with Governor Romney alone would simply too much red meat for the media lions. Why bother? I'm not even sure that a McCain/Romney ticket guarantees Michigan for the GOP. (I think I'm in the minority there).

I digress ...

The inherent contradictions in McCain's view of a smaller government being a better government, along with his repeated assertions that LESS spending is what the Republican Party stands for, and Governor Romney's &quot;I'm from the Government and I'm here to help&quot; track record on health coverage are so obvious as to be ridiculous. Mr. Murdock is correct when he peers into his crystal ball and predicts what Senator Obama could say during a debate or on the campaign stump.

What a disaster THAT would be.
