Giuliani Videotaped Message at Bronx GOP Fundraiser

It looks like former Mayor Giuliani couldn't make it to the Bronx GOP fundraiser last month.  However, Giuliani did videotape a message that was shown at the fundraiser and then posted on YouTube. (Since I was wrapped up in the Yankees postseason, I missed it.)

I'm rather confused by that message. If we are the party that represents fiscal conservatism how did Bloomberg end up the candidate the last two times?

Excellent question.

I didn't vote for Bloomberg.

I suspect that Rudy and the other top Republicans who lobbied the GOP county leaders to support Bloomberg did so thinking that since he's a billionaire, he might have a sliver of Republicanism in him, or that he could devote his financial resources to their own campaigns should they chose to run.

Just as the county leaders got money from Bloomberg, I'm sure Giuliani and Lazio (did he support Bloomberg) can count on the mayor's financial support should they decide to run.

To UE: can you properly embed the video in my post? It doesn't show up. Thanks.

Bloomberg
written by heddahopper , November 12, 2009

You can read in between the lines that these people that were honored at the Bronx GOP dinner, were all picked by Bloomberg.

And I would like to know when the NYC Republicans plan to clean house of all these GOP leaders who sold out to Bloomberg. These GOP leaders after all these years of being hand fed Bloomberg money have lost the art of fundraising and campaigning. It is time now for a grassroots effort to have some new blood in the NYC republicans.

Does Bronx GOP Chairman Jay Savino even live in The Bronx or is his primary, legal residence in Westchester County, where the main office of his law firm is located? Or does he live in Congers, NY (which is in upstate Rockland County)?

Why can't The Bronx GOP be represented by a chairperson who currently lives full-time in that borough? A real, true, current Bronx resident? Shouldn't a real Bronx resident be representing Bronx Republicans? Moreover, owning other residential real estate in The Bronx doesn't really count if that home or apartment is not your primary, legal, income tax paying, and car insurance registered residence.

Mr. Bronx Chairman, Jay Savino, Esq., may have been raised in The Bronx and lived there previously, but he doesn't live there now.
